People and Faces
Take me away to the “Wedding Field.” This spectacular setting for an after-the-wedding photo op is not what I would have thought of on my own. My daughter showed me two late-afternoon photos with the sun going down and asked me to combine these. My first thought was the lack of light. But capturing the love and joy with just the right amount of light worked out great. The afterthought of the abstract/surreal background was an added bonus.
“Steven James, Washoe Elder”. This photo op was during a native language workshop at a Meeks Bay cabin in Lake Tahoe. He almost had no smile. This location has been used by the Washoe people for thousands of years. Lewis and Clark met up with the Washoe here and rowed east across the lake in hollowed out canoes to Cave Rock. They wanted to investigate the moaning sounds they heard emanating from that location. Scientists later thought the sounds were water echoing back from the cave.
